This book ended up being just ok for me. While the premise was interesring and I could see the potential, it fell somewhat short of the mark for me.

So let me start off with some things I liked. Vampires, obviously. I'm a fan of paranormal romance. I've loved the vampire and hunter falling in love idea since the days of Buffy and Angel in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". I loved the strong female vampire Lucille. I also really like how they bridge the immortal vs. mortal issue that should inevitably come up in these types of relationships.

Now on to some things that didn't quite work for me. First off, I felt the story was too short. I think certain elements were rushed through because of this. The whole thing ended up having an instalove feel to it because there was no time for a real development of a relationship. They did have obstacles to over come, but in the end it just all felt rushed to me. Second was the leading man Valentino. While I generally prefer if my hunters have a big meaningful reason for hunting down vampires since It adds depth to the character and another thing for the couple to overcome before their HEA, I could get past it if they don't. It was just that I didn't really feel like I had enough reason to like him. His reasons for hunting weren't noble, he thought all vampires were bad when they weren't. He fell for the trap and seemed prepared to go through with it. I just didn't really believe his love for Lucille. Finally there was the way the story ended. It wasn't a cliffhanger, which I appreciated, but there were some things I felt were unresolved that I assume will be taken care of or at least continued in future stories. But I wish we could have had that resolution here.

This was a first by this author for me. I would certainly consider giving another book by her a try, I just think it would have to be with a longer book.

Wow,
400 year old hardened female enforcer will meet her match, and he's a vampire Hunter and a human. We've read how Lucille has operated in the past in her vampire brother Alexander and his blood bride Catherine, how she helped Michael defeat a Soul Eater to save his Anne, but for this warrior she will face her worst nightmare, her feelings. Merek is back to face his punishment but the elders on their council and a few other will be even more shocked to see something no other vampire/ Nightwalker has ever done and there is a lot more to Marek then just killing humans there is a connection to the head jacka$$, Julius but only Lucille will be the other person that will now the real truth. Valentino is the last of his family line from Italy, 32 and still unlocking the paranormal activity but he has science on his side and training from his grandfather and father to got him still living to fight day by day. He is on the hunt in London and he to is seeking out a skeletal creature killing people, and his hunt crosses paths with a beauty that is also on the hunt. Unlikely duel teaming up to hunt their worst enemy. Will a vampire and her sworn enemy a Hunter be able to team up without trying to kill each other. Alexander and Catherine will pop up a few times, truths and cover ups will be exposed and a newfound happiness for a warmer Lucille and her partner. Told in both p.o.v, HEA. Will there be more? Maybe but this was a great ending for Lucille , which I've been hoping she would get her heart melted to allow someone in from first meeting her in Alex's story.
Yet another amazing story by Lorelei Moone! I've been lucky to read the whole series so far. I don't know how she does it, but each one gets better.
Lucille's an Enforcer to the Vampire Council and has been for centuries. Since Marek escaped from the silver cage (that no ordinary vampire could have done), during his trial for not only killing humans but leaving them where they could easily be found thus potentially exposing ALL vampires. Lucille is ordered to go after him. This time she knows it's going to be tougher than the first time to entrap him. While tracking Marek she comes across a human hunter who is also tracking Marek. They join forces to bring Marek to justice. However she didn't count on her feelings from centuries ago coming to the surface. What is it about Valentino that has her actually connecting to a human. Will it cost her her life or her heart... Or maybe it'll be both?
Valentino knows nothing except being a hunter of Nightwalkers-(vampires). Generations of Conti's have done this, and he's the last of them. His latest investigation has brought him to London. Which is where he's found the intriguingly beautiful Lucille who is hunting the same monster he's looking for, so they join forces to bring him down together. Does Lucille feel the same way about him as he has since their very first meeting? Or is he destined to always be alone?
To find out how a human hunter of vampires and a vampire work together to bring down a powerful soul eater, you'll have to read LUCILLE'S VALENTINE. It's another amazing vampire story! *This story is intended for adult audiences only. This is Book 3 in the Vampires of London series of standalone vampire romances. You can read this series out of order, but if you would like to read Book 1 and 2 first, check out Alexander's Blood Bride and Michael's Soul Mate.(* directly from book). I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book, via IndieSagePR for an honest blog tour review.
